New York families who pay privately don’t want compassionate care.
They want control.
Choose what matters most in private home care — we’ll show you exactly how ProLife delivers it across NYC.
Caregiver Consistency
You interview. You choose. One person, every visit.
Vetted. Approved by You.
Background-checked. Presented for your approval before day one.
Memory Care
For Alzheimer’s and dementia, a new face each week is a setback. One trained caregiver changes everything.
Hospital Discharge
Your caregiver is assessed, approved, and in place before your parent leaves the NYC hospital. Start in 48 hours.
Upgrade Current Care
One coordinator. Direct number. Answers when you call.
We know what New York families go through.
You call at noon to check in. No one answers. You find out three hours later — from your mother — that the caregiver never showed up.
The invoice says 40 hours. Your father mentioned being alone several days last week. You start checking the dates.
They’ve sent four different people this month. Your mother with Alzheimer’s won’t eat when a stranger is in the house.
From your first call,
care starts in your home within 48 hours.
You call. An RN answers.
A registered nurse picks up. Not a receptionist, not a voicemail. We ask about your parent: their condition, their routine, what kind of person they are. Take as long as you need.
You meet the caregiver, you approve.
We match a caregiver to your parent’s needs: language, temperament, experience. You meet them before they start. They begin only with your sign-off.
Care begins in 48 hours.
Your caregiver starts on the day we agreed. You have your coordinator’s direct number before they arrive. If something changes, we call you. You won’t have to wonder.
Free assessment · No commitment · Available 7 days a week
We don’t say “quality care.”
We explain exactly how.
You meet the caregiver before they start. You say yes or no. They begin only with your approval.
They send whoever is available. You meet them at the door on day one.
One caregiver, assigned to your parent. We don’t rotate without a reason you approve.
Staff rotates. Your parent learns a new face every few weeks.
We find the replacement and call you. You hear from us first, not from an empty doorstep.
You find out when no one arrives.
Care begins within 48 hours of your first call.
1–2 weeks of intake paperwork before anyone starts.
Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Bengali and more. You choose the language when you call.
English only in most cases.
I am very satisfied with the agency. They help me take care of my mother. My family is very grateful to them.

Why families in NYC trust ProLife
“Mom was discharged Wednesday. ProLife had a Cantonese-speaking caregiver at our door Friday morning. I didn’t think that was possible.”
“The Russian-speaking coordinator walked us through every step. After three other agencies, ProLife is the only one that actually kept the same aide for more than two weeks.”
“We started private pay while waiting for Medicaid. When it was approved, the same caregiver stayed. My father didn’t have to adjust to anyone new.”

Things families ask us before calling
What if the caregiver gets sick or doesn’t show up?
You hear from us first, not from an empty doorstep. We have a backup network of 500++ caregivers across all boroughs for exactly this reason.
Can we request a different caregiver if it’s not working out?
We match carefully the first time, but if it’s not right we fix it immediately and at no charge. Your loved one’s comfort comes first.
We need someone who speaks Russian / Chinese / Spanish
Our caregivers speak 13 languages: Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, Chinese, Georgian, Bengali, Korean, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Urdu, Polish, and French. Language matching is standard, not a special request.
We haven’t decided yet — we just want to know what it costs
You decide on your own timeline. Our coordinators answer questions without pushing for a commitment. Private pay care in NYC typically starts at $35/hour — use the calculator above for a personal estimate.
How quickly can we actually start?
Call (718) 232-2777 and we confirm next-day availability in your neighborhood. We serve all NYC boroughs and Nassau County.
What if mom or dad doesn’t like the caregiver?
We interview to understand personality fit before placing anyone. But if the connection isn’t there for any reason, we swap immediately. Your family’s comfort is not negotiable.
Does Medicare cover private home care?
Medicare Part A covers skilled nursing facility care for up to 100 days after hospitalization. A dedicated caregiver for daily living support is not covered. Options include Medicaid (for those who qualify), long-term care insurance, or private pay out of pocket.
Do I need a doctor’s referral to start private home care?
No doctor’s order, no paperwork delay. This is one of the key advantages of private pay — you are in control of the timeline, not the healthcare system.
Who qualifies for private home care?
If your loved one needs help with bathing, dressing, meals, medication reminders, mobility, or companionship — they can start immediately. You call us, we assess the care needs, and we place a caregiver.
Does Medicaid cover home care in NYC?
In New York, Medicaid covers home care through CDPAP and Managed Long Term Care (MLTC). ProLife places a caregiver while you wait, then transitions billing to Medicaid once approved. The same caregiver continues.
What does a home health aide do?
All ProLife caregivers are NYS-certified HHAs or PCAs. They do not perform medical procedures. We match by care needs, language, and personality — not just availability.
No commitment. Answers in 15 minutes.
