Forum rules
This forum is a place for families caring for a loved one to ask questions and help each other. These rules keep it safe, useful and kind. They are part of the Forum Terms.
Respect and safety
No threats, harassment, insults, hateful abuse, slurs or swearing; no sexual content or exploitation; no pretending to be someone else; no encouraging dangerous acts. Disagree with ideas, not people.
Patient and personal privacy
No names or identifying details of patients, the people you care for, or coworkers. No medical records, photographs, addresses, phone numbers, emails, or confidential workplace material. Even if someone gave you permission, avoid posting health details that could identify them. Say “my mom”, not her name.
Medical information
Share experiences and general information. No personal diagnoses, prescriptions or medicine doses, no telling someone to stop a treatment, no emergency triage, and no guarantees that someone will qualify for Medicaid or any program. Nothing here replaces a doctor, nurse, lawyer or benefits counselor who knows the situation.
No advertising
No undisclosed advertising, referral commissions, recruiting caregivers or clients, spam, scams or misleading endorsements. Employees of ProLife and of any vendor must clearly say who they work for. Links are reviewed before they appear; links to official sources are welcome.
Copyright and honesty
Post only what you may lawfully share. No copying other people’s work, no unlawful material, and no claims about real people that you know are false.
Complaints about ProLife care
Concerns about care from ProLife Home Care are handled privately, not on the forum. If you post one, we won’t publish it — we’ll pass it to Anna Klyauzova, RN, our Director of Patient Services, and ask you to call (718) 232-2777.
Reporting
Use “Report” for posts that break these rules — don’t argue in the thread. Reports are not for emergencies.
If someone is in danger right now, call 911.
Thoughts of suicide or a mental health crisis: call or text 988. An older adult being abused or neglected in New York City: Adult Protective Services (212) 630-1853, or call us at (718) 232-2777. The forum is not an emergency service and is not monitored around the clock.
How moderation works
- Posts are checked automatically. Most appear right away.
- Posts that may break a rule, and posts with links, wait for a moderator. If your post is held, we email you the reason and a button to ask a person to review it.
- Posts about possible abuse or neglect, and complaints about ProLife care, are not published. They go privately to our team, and we email you our phone number.
- If three members report a post, it is hidden until a moderator looks at it.
- We may hold, remove or restrict posts or accounts that break the rules. We edit a post only to remove personal details, links or rule-breaking content.
- You can edit your own post for 15 minutes, and delete your account — with or without your posts — in your account.
